Morning tea

-21degrees Celcius and the wind will make it feel like -33! Ottawa in the winter is a joy.
However,
  • the kids have been bundled up and off on the school bus;
  • I'm listening to CBC Radio Two;
  • my tea is steaming in my favourite mug;
I can't complain...

And who would really? But I want you to check out my gorgeous mug. While this one is new, a pre-Christmas gift from my man, it replaces one I've had for over ten years by the same artist. The feel, the shape and the glaze are all just beautiful. It's my comfort for getting up early when I'd rather sleep late. The round, fat shape makes it perfect for cupping with two hands and blowing off the steam.

Honestly, I don't think you can appreciate the colours - not very sunny in the dining room yet hence the shine from the flash - but you can get a better idea at the artist's website http://www.stanleylakepottery.com/. Be sure to check out his garden art. Someday one of his fountains will be burbling in my backyard.

  1. Hi Jen, I love your blog and the mug too. At first I thought YOU made the mug.

    AND your embroidering is beautiful. You are very creative so it is nice to see you are following one of your passions. I can't wait to see the final product.
